samenvatting: Dit rapport geeft een landelijk overzicht van de signalen van discriminatie van transgender personen in 2017. De inhoud is gebaseerd op meldingen zoals die zijn geregistreerd door de antidiscriminatievoorzieningen (adv's), het meldpunt van het Transgender Netwerk Nederland, het meldpunt internet discriminatie (MIND) en de landelijke politie. Hiernaast wordt er aandacht besteed aan de zaken die het College voor de Rechten van de Mens heeft behandeld. Dit rapport is een aanvulling op de landelijke en regionale multi-agency rapporten met discriminatiecijfers over 2017. Discriminatie van transgender personen valt onder de grond geslacht. Deze grond wordt door veel antidiscriminatievoorzieningen niet uitgesplitst, waardoor transgenderdiscriminatie in de meeste cijfers minder zichtbaar is. Dit rapport geeft inzicht in die meldingen op grond van geslacht die gaan over ervaren discriminatie op grond van genderidentiteit en/of genderexpressie.

samenvatting: This report was prepared by Transgender Legal Defense Project and is based on the results of the research they undertook in 2016-2017, during which they carried out a detailed analysis of the situation of transgender people in Russian society and documented numerous violations of their rights. Before the Ministry of Health Decree entered into force, trans people would routinely face abuse, violence and difficulties in the sphere of labor, healthcare and education as well as denial of various services requiring identification. The purpose of this research was to evaluate the extent and details of this issue as well as to identify other challenges faced by transgender people in Russian society, and finally, to suggest recommendations as to their solution. The monitoring research was mainly focused on incidents of conflict and discrimination that arose due to a discrepancy between the appearance and gender identity of the survivors on the one hand and their ID papers on the other.

samenvatting: This report, in continuation with the Trans Murder Monitoring (TMM) project, pertains to the TMM data, collected since 2008, and focuses on trans and gender-diverse sex workers, broadly highlighting current trends contributing to the marginalization and exclusion of trans and sex worker communities, such as the criminalization of migration and sex work, the use of punitive approaches to tackling poverty, homelessness, and drug use, increasingly precarious living and working conditions, and growing racial, gender, and economic disparities all over the world. Furthermore, it builds on community-based violence documentation and research carried out in recent years in local contexts and on an international level, including TGEU's Transrespect versus Transphobia Worldwide (TvT) and ProTrans projects.

Setting up a monitoring scheme and accompanying victim support services is an enormous task that requires careful resource planning and expertise. It is an attempt to highlight some key issues and showcase one hopefully useful tool for those groups and civil-society organisations that want to improve their monitoring and reporting activities and engage in comparative data collection at the European level.

samenvatting: The main purpose of this report is to serve as a first step toward understanding the treatment of transgender, gender non-conforming, and intersex people in New York State men's prisons. The research informing this report was conducted through in-person interviews and written correspondence with currently and formerly imprisoned clients of SRLP, as well as through supplementary interviews with a range of advocates in New York City. The focus of this report is specifically on conditions of confinement in men's prisons because the vast majority of SRLP's currently or formerly imprisoned clients were housed in men's facilities. There currently exists only minimal research on the experiences of transgender, gender non-conforming, and intersex people in the criminal justice system or on their paths to imprisonment. This report owes much of its analysis, findings, and recommendations to this emergent research and to the range of dedicated activists and advocates in New York City working to foreground the intersections of gender identity discrimination, poverty, and criminalization.
